Timetable and schedule

  • 11:20 am start of boarding at Morges station
  • 11:44 am departure for a trip to Bière, with stops at Chigny, Yens, Apples and Ballens
  • 2.15pm arrival in Bière, where you’ll have time to finish your chat, enjoy a coffee and take advantage of the artisans on hand.

In Bière, you have two options:

  • Continue your discovery with a visit to the Moulin de Sévery. Built in 1845, the artisanal Sévery Oil Mill is the last in Switzerland to operate year-round. You’ll be able to admire the craftsman’s skills and experience a demonstration of traditional oil pressing, followed by a tasting session. A bus will take you from Bière station to Moulin de Sévery, then to Morges station. You must confirm your attendance when you register, either by calling 021 811 43 45 or by e-mail (vente@mbc.ch), and you will be asked to contribute CHF 10 towards the cost of transport.
  • Return to Morges by regular train, which leaves Bière at 3.19pm (or 2.19pm for those in a hurry) and enjoy a final coffee or a stroll along the country lanes, where you can stroll to your heart’s content. Ideas for walks and bike rides are available at www.lavoiedessens.ch.

You return to Morges by train at 3:49 pm (or 2:49 pm) and from the Moulin de Sévery at 4:40 pm.

menu

Each outing is an opportunity to develop a specific menu that varies with the seasons. After a gourmet appetizer, your menu will develop this theme with a seasonal starter, main course and dessert. While the “La Chasse” trains are very popular, don’t miss out on the other seasons and discoveries!

Drinks according to on-board menu (not included).

TRAVEL (AND EAT...) ON A VINTAGE TRAIN

Watch out, you’re about to travel on a historic train with vehicles built between 1895 and 1925! It’s a trip back in time, a time for sharing and conviviality. But it also takes you back to a time when the notion of comfort was not the same as it is today…

  • The vehicles, tables, benches and air-conditioning are all vintage. The space is rather limited, the tables rather narrow and the contacts warm!
  • Every meal served in a vintage train is a feat in itself. It’s a feat repeated on every outing by passionate restaurateurs. Without the resources of a restaurant, it’s impossible to offer an alternative menu, a wide choice of beverages or to respond to last-minute requests for changes…
  • Comfort and speed are also a thing of the past. Your train will run slowly (leaving you to enjoy the view and your meal in the best possible conditions) and will stop at several stations along the way to wait for or let the mainline trains pass (there is also a little more traffic than at the beginning of the last century…).
  • The need to work with the existing equipment and limited infrastructure of a train, not a restaurant. As well as adhering to strict timetables, for a historic train that “slips” into an operating rail network
  • Historic train vehicles are not equipped with toilets. Public facilities are available at the departure and arrival stations, as well as at Apples.
  • Please note that the retro BAM and its vehicles from the past century are not suitable for strollers, baby chairs or wheelchairs.
  • Maintaining and operating such a historic train comes at a cost. The value of this single train outing is estimated at CHF 45 (including free circulation on the MBC network during the day). It is only thanks to the support of the MBC and all historic train enthusiasts, La Voie des Sens and restaurateurs, that the final price can remain affordable.
