menu

Based on the wines selected by the guest winemaker, Chef Stéphane Brioschi proposes a menu that sublimates the wines on offer.

Each outing is an opportunity to develop a menu that varies with the seasons and the wines. After an appetizer to tide you over, your menu will develop the most subtle pairings between the wines to be discovered and the dishes on offer, with a seasonal starter, main course and dessert.

Other beverages available on board (not included).

TRAVEL (AND EAT...) ON A VINTAGE TRAIN

Watch out, you’re about to travel on a historic train with vehicles built between 1895 and 1925! It’s a trip back in time, a time for sharing and conviviality. But it also takes you back to a time when the notion of comfort was not the same as it is today…

  • The vehicles, tables, benches and air-conditioning are all vintage. The space is rather limited, the tables rather narrow and the contacts warm!
  • Every meal served in a vintage train is a feat in itself. It’s a feat repeated on every outing by passionate restaurateurs. Without the resources of a restaurant, it’s impossible to offer an alternative menu, a wide choice of beverages or to respond to last-minute requests for changes…
  • Comfort and speed are also a thing of the past. Your train will run slowly (leaving you to enjoy the view and your meal in the best possible conditions) and will stop at several stations along the way to wait for or let the mainline trains pass (there is also a little more traffic than at the beginning of the last century…).
  • The need to work with the existing equipment and limited infrastructure of a train, not a restaurant. As well as adhering to strict timetables, for a historic train that “slips” into an operating rail network
  • Historic train vehicles are not equipped with toilets. Public facilities are available at the departure and arrival stations, as well as at Apples.
  • Please note that the retro BAM and its vehicles from the past century are not suitable for strollers, baby chairs or wheelchairs.
  • Maintaining and operating such a historic train comes at a cost. The value of this single train outing is estimated at CHF 45 (including free circulation on the MBC network during the day). It is only thanks to the support of the MBC and all historic train enthusiasts, La Voie des Sens and restaurateurs, that the final price can remain affordable.
